WORKSHOPS

In the lead up to the forum in Abu Dhabi on the 19th & 20th of November, a series of pre-event workshops were planned across six different  countries. The goals of these workshops were to:

KEY FINDINGS

The workshops held in Cairo, New Delhi, Nairobi, Manila and Santo Domingo, featured hundreds of grassroots faith leaders from  different religious backgrounds.

With the aid of local research partners, academic teams and NGO’s, these workshops explored the awareness of the topic amongst local faith leaders and the challenges it poses to their communities. It gave us great insight into the magnitude and understanding of the issues.

Raising Awareness

Faith leaders have shown varying levels of awareness of the problems posed by online child sexual abuse and exploitation (OCSE).

We developed a survey questionnaire for faith leaders to fill out in each event, covering their awareness of OCSE as well as possible actions that can be taken. The consolidated responses from the surveys have been compiled into a report and will be used as an input into the content of the Abu Dhabi event.

WHAT HAPPENS

NEXT?

The outcomes of those workshops are used to feed the Interfaith Alliance Initiative and inform the content of the forum. In the future, those key findings will also be used as a base to measure the impact of the actions that have been agreed during the Interfaith Alliance Forum.
