G20 interfaith Forum

December 2022, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Event Summary

The Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities and the G20 Interfaith Forum Association jointly organized a forum on “Engaging Faith Communities: G20 Agendas and Beyond” in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

The convening served as a bridge between the November G20 Summit in Indonesia and the launch of the 2023 G20 agenda, with India as 2023 host. The central focus was on calls for action to serve the world’s most vulnerable communities and to address action grounded in meaningful inclusion of all world citizens.

More than 150 attendees, including senior faith leaders and government body representatives, international organizations and civil society, engaged in discussions to identify substantive and concrete policy recommendations for this year’s G20process. The deliberations resulted in the identification of four priority areas referred to as the 4 C’s: Children, Climate, Co-existence and COVID.
