Event Summary
To ensure that regional perspectives and challenges are adequately captured in the recommendations and future advocacy efforts with the G20 Process, a series of regional meetings were planned in different parts of the world.
A regional meeting was hosted in Istanbul, under the patronage of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, who delivered the opening remarks. Other senior religious leaders in attendance included Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshükür Pashazade, Grand Mufti of the Caucasus and His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.
The meeting gathered 30 participants, including senior Christian and Muslim faith leaders, along with select representatives from faith-based organizations.
The discussions covered climate change and food security, conflict resolution and peace building, child sexual abuse and exploitation, human trafficking, and hate crimes.
